Monday: -- 3.5 out of 5 -- More NW juice with NW winds. Look for the sets at exposed spots to be 6-8'. Low tide just before noon. Tuesday: -- 3.5 out of 5 -- Same swell hangs around with lighter winds. It will be a bit smaller, but conditions should make up for that. Wednesday: -- 4 out of 5 -- New, bigger NW swell builds throughout the day. Steady and strong NNW winds will be blowing most spots in town offshore. Look for the top spots to be up to double overhead+ by the afternoon. Low tide around 1:30pm.

San Francisco
Monday: -- 1.5 out of 5 -- Plenty of swell this week but WNW onshores a problem. They will be steady and strong all day. Tuesday: -- 2.5 out of 5 -- Best bet a morning session during the higher tide and lighter winds. Wave size up to 7-10'. Wednesday: -- 2 out of 5 -- New, bigger NW arrives, yet winds will be strong out of the NNW most likely making a session not worth it.

WaBlahhhh Question Of The week...
Yo Ner, I want to learn how to surf but I don't know anything about boards. What type should I be riding to start out? - Randy Reef
Mr. Reef, excellent question. Although shortboards look cool, it is best to learn on the bigger guys. Board size will depend on your body weight, but generally go for the longer, wider, and thicker boards. The average beginner usually surfs a longboard anywhere from 7 to 10 feet. These will float you better and make paddling easier. That way it's not so difficult to snag waves when you're just starting out and you'll be riding faster with less effort to sustain speed. A foam top board is a good idea also. In the case you run into a disgruntled local, those things can be indestructible and save you the hassle of dealing with dings and frustration.
